16 Days to 30th Birthday – New Home After Marriage

Copenhagen now feels home to me. It’s been almost five months I moved here after my wedding.

This place has given so much to me, the freedom in life, the courage to follow my dreams and a lot.

One of the best things I have been doing here is the volunteer work, especially volunteering at Cafe Cadeau. Serving the coffee, helping in the kitchen, taking care of the customer, I love it. This is something I always wanted to do, but could have never done in my own country because in India I am an engineer.

Copenhagen is helping me change my own perspective toward life, not to judge people, relax and not think too much in life, define your own rules and have fun, fun and more fun.

Love you my new home Copenhagen!

17 Days to 30th Birthday – Can Love be Synchronized?

Being in Love is the best feeling in this world. It makes you a good person.

My husband and I fell in love in Synchronization. We both started liking each other almost at the same time. Nobody had to woo the other one. It happened and we got married. So basically I didn’t get a formal proposal 😛

Now, after marriage I am getting to know that the way we love each other is different, but at times it feels great to discover that we both are thinking about the same thing.

We often say opposite attracts, especially in love.

But do you think love can be synchronized with the same thoughts, same feeling, same desire?

18 Days to 30th Birthday – My First Tedx Event – All is Well

Attending a Ted or Tedx event has always been my dream. Today attending Tedx came to fruition when I had the opportunity to attend TedxCopenhagen.

One of the speakers, Berit Hessing narrated a heart-touching life story about Encountering uncertainty. She shared that how her husband met with an accident and was paralyzed. How things changed for her. She had to take care of four children, work, home, everything. There came a time when she wasn’t sure whose life she is living, a mother, a husband, a wife. She always saw her husband ill and was totally broken.

Then one day when she was having lunch with her family, she got a Visceral feeling to go out in the fresh air. She went out and took some deep breaths. At that moment a profound thought knocked her heart. The thought was “What if my husband is well and I am looking at him as ill”. She went inside and told her husband that now onward you are well. Things changed that day onward for her and her family. Her husband started recovering fast.

She told us how she and her husband spoke about happiness, love, wellness and never about the illness. This life event reshaped her life, for the better.

You know friends, we don’t need to go through struggles, failures, sadness to understand that life is supposed to be good.

I love Dr. Wayne Dyer quote – “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

All is Well! And if not change the way you look at things 🙂

19 Days to 30th Birthday – The World Needs More People Like Ellen DeGeneres

Do you need some inspiration in life? Watch Ellen DeGeneres’s show every day, watch her stand-up comedy videos.

Her oozing personality will make your life simpler and happier.

I got to know about her this year only and now I am in total awe of her. Her service to humanity is speechless.

I love her motto of life – Be Kind to One Another.

Whenever I feel a little low I watch her episodes on YouTube and there I am, full of life again.

I got shocked when I found out that she is 59 years old and next year she will complete 60. O My God, look at her enthusiasm and fun attitude toward life.

She has sparked within me the energy to live my next 30 years with love and fun in my heart. We get serious turning 30 but look at Ellen, she looks younger day by day.

I love her! I love her! I love her!
Keep Inspiring us Ellen!

20 Days to 30th Birthday – Movie Sully offers Life Lessons

I am always behind in watching great movies. Just yesterday when I saw the movie Sully in Netflix I watched it immediately. I knew the story, but to see Tom Hanks play the character of Chesley Sullenberger was breathtaking.

Salute to ‘Sully’ who saved 155 lives with an emergency landing of that lurched US Airways Flight 1549 on the Hudson River. The movie made me cry. The movie offers lots of life lessons.

One small story in the movie is about a father and a son and how they get separated during the emergency landing because they were on different seats on the plane. They both thought they lost each other. But when son calls his father informing I am safe and was taken in a different lifeboat, both father and son laughed in harmony. The father then said I love you son and son also replied I love you.

This small story made me realized how often do I say I love you to people I really love and care about. Let’s not think too much before expressing our feelings.

Believe me nothing bad happens when you say I love you to someone! 😉

Life is great and Love is super great! 🙂

21 Days to 30th Birthday – Danish Drink Snaps

On Friday we hosted a pre wedding party for one of our volunteers in our Cafe.

For the first time I tried Snaps. Snaps is a famous Danish drink, a very strong alcoholic beverage taken during the course of a meal.

I love the soothing feeling after two-three shots, but that day it became 5-6 shots.

I took the wedding hat from #bridetobe and put it on me.

I never believed drinking is bad as long as you are in control and it doesn’t become your daily habit. It makes you feel young.

22 Days to 30th Birthday – A Poem on My Belly Fat

I love to write poems and Recite them. But never have I ever thought of writing a poem on my belly fat. Doing stand-up makes you do things differently.

Recently I delivered my entertaining speech at Toastmasters, titled The Biggest Tragedy of my life and nobody imagined my biggest tragedy would be having a belly fat.

It’s been almost 3 years I have gained some weight around my belly. The idea of speech came with the thought that you start developing a relationship when you are with someone for 3 years, so I also developed this behavior of talking to my belly fat but in a poetic way.

Here is my poem. Hope you will enjoy it 😉

Oh my dear belly fat, how are you?
Yes, you. How are you?
Don’t be shy. You know me
You are growing because of me
You are using my place to live
I give you food and hope to grow

Oh my dear belly fat I don’t like you
Yes, you heard me right
You are fat and tight
You are exactly like my ex
Always a trouble during sex

You are the reason I can’t wear my favorite sexy dress!
You are THE reason I don’t buy any sexy dress!
You are the reason why I don’t look at myself in full length mirror!
You are THE reason I broke my full length mirror!

I don’t eat much!
Eating 7 times a day is not much!
You know what I am writing about you
Talking about you in public!
Making fun of you,
So that you feel embarrassed and go away!

We can also do it in an easy way
We can become friends
We can fall in love
And Then I will ditch you
I will stop talking to you
So that you feel embarrassed and go away!

I don’t want to have belly fat in my 30s 😛 😉 Share your ideas to get rid of belly fat!

23 Days to 30th Birthday – Doing Headstand

Can you do Headstand all by yourself?

Going to Fitness World has inspired me to try Headstand. Something that I have never ever done in my life.

Whenever our Yoga teacher teaches us the technique I feel like I can do it, but when I try… 😛

I have realized that one needs solitude to do Headstand in Yoga.

Well, I am definitely going to achieve doing Headstand and maybe soon I will post my own picture like this.

Do share your tips and tricks of doing Headstand!

24 Days to 30th Birthday – Expand Your Horizon

Are you living a routine life and wondering where is the fun?
Do you work Monday to Friday and over the weekend all that you do is time pass with family and friends?

When I started working in IT industry the weekends were the mode to relax and chill out to get ready for the coming week. Monday was always boring and never welcomed. This went on for 3 years of my first job life.

I was working and earning money but was not satisfied.

I took a new role in a new company to kill the boredom but the same routine continued.

I was then introduced to Toastmasters in the year 2013. Toastmasters brought a new perspective in my life. I joined the Mumbai Toastmaster Club to hone my public speaking and leadership skills. The club meets every Sunday from 10 AM – 1 PM in Bandra, Mumbai.

As I always say Toastmaster has changed my life and now I am following my passion only because of being a Toastmaster.

I started going to my club EVERY Sunday. It was very rare for me to not go to my club. My priority changed. I chose Toastmasters over my weekend time with my family, fun time with my friends, movie time, doing nothing time, getting up late on Sunday time, EVERYTHING.

This one change unfurled my life to new learning, new opportunities and new dreams in my life. Joining Toastmasters led to joining Improv classes, doing stand-up comedy, doing theatre and then finally leaving my job to follow my passion for Acting.

During those times in Mumbai, Monday no longer bored me. It felt to me that my week already started on Sunday with an awesome meeting at Toastmasters.

Take one step to break the monotony in life. Do something in your free time especially over the weekend. One thing that interests you. Keep expanding your horizon.

Turning 30 feels awesome!

25 Days to 30th Birthday – Enjoy the Ride

I will start by saying I Love You Abraham Hicks.
Things in my life have changed so wonderfully with Abraham Hicks’ teachings.

To live a life following The Law of Attraction is awesome.

In one of her videos Abraham Hicks says these wonderful lines about what you said when you decided to come to your physical experience.

“Not one of you said I will go, it’s all figure it out for me and I will just go be what has already figured it out. That’s not fun. You said, I am the creator, I will shift and sort. I will decide what I want and I will allow myself to receive it and I will revel in the focal point of abundance that is focused and showering down around me at all time. The humor and the clarity and the fun, ahhhhhh!!!!!!!! You are so in the right place at the right time. You came into this time space reality for the acceleration of Creation.”

At times it’s better not to have a smooth ride in life. I believe that’s why we sometimes go and enjoy ourselves in the roller coaster.

Let’s life surprise you. Don’t always desire to have everything sorted out for you. That’s really not the fun of life. Turning 30 is exactly giving me this feeling. I am open to new opportunities that life will showcase me. 🙂

I will end by saying I Love You Abraham Hicks.
