It was an awesome experience performing at open stage hosted by Copenhagen Theatre Circle.

Wow! A New Horizon to aim for!
December 2016 has also been a wonderful month for me. I always wanted to be a teacher, spending time with kids, playing with them and a little bit of regular study. When I was between 8-10 years old I opened a school with my friends. And I appointed myself as the school principal. Every evening after our regular school, we children used to gather on the terrace to study. We did take school fees from kids, around 10 paise to 25 paise and I still remember celebrating Saraswati Puja (Festival to worship the goddess of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom and learning) with all the kids.
I am grateful to the Law of Attraction for bringing this long due dream into reality. This month I got appointed as a creative educator at Helen O’Grady Organization in Navi Mumbai, India. The organization is an International platform that aims to provide a self-development through drama programme for children. The four Cs that this organization focuses on are Communication, Confident, Creativity and Collaboration.
It feels awesome to get involved and teach something that you are passionate about. We teach improvisation, speech value, projection, poem, how to respond to various situations in life. It is a platform to teach kids life skills, experiential learning and much more.
It has been only a week and I can say the journey has been great. I have already experienced the fact that when you become a teacher to kids, you become a student of life. There is so much to learn from them.
Every child is unique. They are naughty in their own sweet way. They fight to have fun. Boys are more mischievous than girls. I am so excited to share my learning with you all in coming post.
Above pics are from my class. I am also posing as a teacher 🙂
Enjoy and have fun!

I love Vikas Khanna. Yes, I love him! I admire him! I adore him! He is my Magic. He is my inspiration.
His story has already inspired millions. He has gone through life with dedication and perseverance. He didn’t let his passion of cooking die with all the struggle he faced during his journey. He has taken the Indian cuisine to an international scale.
I had the opportunity to meet him during Times Literary Carnival on December 2014. After his interview in the Times Literature Carnival I jumped from my seat to grab the mic to ask him a question. I was alert all the time during his interview to grab this opportunity. He asked me to come up on the stage to sing a song along with him. And we did sing a song and danced together. That day is one of the happiest days of my life.
His innocence, humble and down to earth personality teaches us not to forget the true essence of human life, that to help each other and spread love.
Love You Vikas Khanna :-*

I am writing a humorous speech for my next project at Toastmaster. The speech is about how much people are excited when you get married at the age of 30, near or above. The speech definitely considers Indian cultural as I am an Indian.
Sharing a small synopsis below! Share your thoughts on “Do you think getting married at 30 is late?”
How many of you got married at the age of 30, near 30 or above. If you get married at the age of 30 or after 30, the only person who is excited, super excited about the marriage is YOU yourself.
And if it’s a love marriage, like you are the one who selected your life partner, then definitely you are the only one who is excited about it.
Even your friends are not that interested at all; obvious reason is that even they are around 30 now.
Half of my friends are married; few are into SERIOUS family planning. Few who are yet to get married are consulting Family Gurus, Pandits to find out what is wrong with their lives.
My elder sister got married at the age of 25. That was 2010 and my parents, family members, relatives, villagers, neighbours, everyone was so excited. My parents had called up each and every relative to personally invite them. My dad spoke so proudly on phone – my dad inviting his brother-in-law, (Loud voice) hello, Yes yes Priti’s marriage has been fixed. Yes yes I found the guy. Yes yes He is an Engineer. Yes yes marriage won’t happen without you. Yes yes YOU HAVE TO COME. NO no no no nooooo marriage will not happen without you means won’t happen without you. Yes yes the moment the cards get printed we will send it you. Yes yes good night bye.
Now I am about to get married and it’s after 6 years of sister’s marriage. Even all my relatives are old now. I myself told my dad, dad call your brother-in-law.
My dad is like why, why should I call him.
Dad, it’s my wedding. Invite them.
Oh, for that! Do we need to tell them? Who will come from that far?
Dad, call him, it’s my wedding.
My dad over the call, (Low tone) “yes yes Kriti is finally getting married. Yes yes she only arranged the guy. Yes yes the guy is kind of an engineer. Yes, yes, yes, yes, whatttttt, you are suffering from Migraine, you can’t come. Yes yes no problem, even I have got only 3 days leaves. You take care of yourself. Yes yes good night bye.
Need to complete the speech ASAP!

I love participating in various contests at Toastmasters. One really has to put a lot of time and effort to come up with a great speech.
This mess happened to me during the club level International Speech contest in February 2015. I was struggling to write a speech for the upcoming speech contest. It was just a week left for the contest and I had around 3-4 ideas, but I was not able to complete any of them.
Then an idea popped up just 4 days before and I wrote a speech titled – It’s Okay. The message was that it’s okay to have a MESS in your life as long as you find a moment of happiness.
I converted my ongoing situation to a speech and guess what I won the third place in the contest.
Let me know your feedback for the same.
As mentioned earlier, I again searched on Google for the correct definition of the word Relish. One example by Google reminded me of my Improv show that we did as Level 3 students.
Just to give a brief about Improv (Improvisation), it is a form of theatre in which no script is used. You get a suggestion from the audience and start to act out the scene. One definitely needs to learn the rules of Improv. Improv has greatly improved my life and I can’t imagine my life without Improv.
I feel grateful to have been introduced to Improv and was taught by renowned Adam Dow. (Founder of ICM, India’s first Improv troupe comedy)
So during the show, I and one partner (a guy) was up on stage and our host Adam asked the suggestions from the audience. Two audience members individually shouted Salsa and Cooking. My scene partner and I heard them clearly. Whenever there are like two or three suggestions from the audience, the host selects one from them and tells the performers to start the scene.
In this case Adam gave the suggestion to us as Cooking Salsa.
To tell you the truth friends, I didn’t know or maybe couldn’t think about the Salsa sauce at that time. The scene could have definitely gone as cooking the salsa sauce. But what we did was a total different version of cooking salsa.
I started the scene by cooking and dancing Salsa dance form and said to my partner, whom I made my husband in the scene, what’s up darling, do you want an omelet at breakfast.
My partner supported me completely and didn’t deny what I started the scene with. The first rule of improv is to Agree. 🙂
We added a lot of new flavors to this new way of relishing salsa sauce. Everybody in the audience enjoyed our version of cooking salsa sauce. Adam also appreciated my work in the end. That’s all you need from your Guru. 🙂
I learnt a great lesson that day that it’s OK to not know about something in life. We can always create a new version of that along our journey with an added flavor of fun.
It was a Relishing moment of fun, happiness and laughter.
Above is the pic from the scene!
Today’s prompt triggered me to be Poetic. Your feedback is much appreciated.
